 My favorite book


My favorite book is The Village in the Jungle written by Leonard Woolf, and its Sinhala translation titled Baddhegama. This work was translated into Sinhala by A. P. Gunarathne. It is a book I deeply admire and is considered one of the most famous novels in Sri Lankan literature.

Through this novel, the simplicity of rural life, as well as the hardships hidden within that simplicity, are portrayed very effectively. A number of characters such as Babun, Punchi Menika, Silindu, and Hinnihami can be seen in this story. Among them, my favorite character is Punchi Menika, mainly because she is a strong-minded woman.

The novel Baddhegama clearly depicts the reality of village life. I truly love this work as it is a heart-touching novel from which valuable life lessons can be learned.

We Who Came Together by Chance

 Friends who don't remember  Although the three of us lived in the same city, we had never known each other before. None of us were familiar with one another. Yet today, we are close friends. This friendship began because of our university activities. On a beautiful day in Anuradhapura, the three of us visited sacred places together and spent our time very happily. We enjoyed delicious food and drinks, bought clothes, and spent the day with joy and laughter. Before we even realized it, evening had arrived. Although we said goodbye and parted ways, my heart wished to stay with them a little longer. With the hope of meeting again, I returned home thinking about how beautiful days pass by so quickly.💔💝
