The sacred city of Anuradhapura

  Anuradhapura is a sacred and historic city in Sri Lanka. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first ancient capital of Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura is located in the North Central Province and is the main city of the Anuradhapura District. 
 
This city is an important religious and cultural center. There are many ancient Buddhist temples, monasteries, and ruins in Anuradhapura. People from Sri Lanka and other countries come to worship and visit these sacred places.  

Some of the most important religious sites in Anuradhapura are the Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya, and Thuparamaya. These places are very sacred to Buddhists. Many Buddhist religious buildings can be seen throughout the city. 
 
Anuradhapura also has many ancient tanks and irrigation systems built by old kings. These show the knowledge and skills of ancient Sri Lankans.  

The teachings of the Buddha can be felt all over this sacred city. Being born in Anuradhapura is a great blessing, and I am proud of my hometown.

We Who Came Together by Chance

 Friends who don't remember  Although the three of us lived in the same city, we had never known each other before. None of us were familiar with one another. Yet today, we are close friends. This friendship began because of our university activities. On a beautiful day in Anuradhapura, the three of us visited sacred places together and spent our time very happily. We enjoyed delicious food and drinks, bought clothes, and spent the day with joy and laughter. Before we even realized it, evening had arrived. Although we said goodbye and parted ways, my heart wished to stay with them a little longer. With the hope of meeting again, I returned home thinking about how beautiful days pass by so quickly.💔💝
